The cork planks extracted from the oaks are transported to our factory and here stocked according to C.E. Liége rules. 
Cork stocking is made in open areas, on adequate supports that keeps the cork at a minimum distance of 25 cm from the ground, which is not asphalted. This is to avoid any contaminations with external agents from asphalt or with water stagnant on the ground.

The so stocked cork is left seasoning for a 18 month period, with the crust on the upside. During this period cork will release the constitution water of the oak and powders contained within its pores.
Although our technicians are constantly monitoring the humidity grade of cork during seasoning, the best we can do in this period is to wait patiently, to let the cork maturing according to the rules.
