Dynamic
Air Exchange DAX 5.5:
Corks Humidity Grade Fixing
|
Sterilized corks, perfect in their shape and aspect, are ready to be branded with your company logo.
Before doing that, there is something else we do to deliver in your hands a perfect product.
The several process steps described may have excessively reduced the humidity grade of corks. The consequences of this low humidity grade will be verified later on, when cork stopper will be uncorked from the bottle: cork stopper will grip against the bottle and it will be necessary to increase the uncorking strength, with the risk to break the cork inside the bottle.
Many of the cork manufacturers make up for this low humidity grade with large doses of lubricant, that is initially absorbed within the cork’s body, and later gradually released in the
bottle.
We check and dose the humidity grade of corks before lubrication, to assure:
1. flexibility during corking phase
2. stability and holding on the bottle in the long period
3. easiness of uncorking
We do it by our technology named DAX 5.5 (dynamic air exchange), which allows to regulate the humidity grade homogeneously within the cork’s body and firmly in time. In a few minutes, corks processed with DAX 5.5 reach the desired grade of humidity which will be kept constant, and is ready to be treated with the right dose of lubricant without any
risks.
